Dear Esther

Forgot to mention I played through this a couple days ago.

Oh My God.

The atmosphere, the musical and dialogue cues, the expertly crafted landscapes, just everything about it. One of the most breathtakingly beautiful games I’ve ever played. It requires patience. In a world full of run-an-gun, you walk. No weapons, no puzzles except figuring out what’s going on and why. The story is revealed proceduraly, and is really amazing. The whole game only takes a couple hours to play through, but if you have the time and let yourself be immersed in the game’s incredible environments and story, it’s like nothing else you’ve played.

Games can be art. This is one of those games.
